Early in my career as a personal trainer, I've noticed a lot of trainers who never really set goals for their clients other than “trying” to get them to lose weight. They just put them through random workouts and there was no really any design or plan as to the end game to the client’s fitness level.
There was no test or assessments given to the client to show they were improving in any of the components that make up fitness other than checking their weight, and most trainers I worked with didn’t do that! The one thing that trainers were mostly taught in commercial gyms was how to make a sale.
So doing some research I stumbled upon a chart created by another personal trainer that showed a Standard of Strength. I adopted those standards, made some modifications, and used them with some of my clients to this day based on their level of conditioning.
These are the goals you should shoot for in your training. In my experience, the average male and female that shoots for, and reaches the “Decent” standards, I would consider you being miles ahead of most people.

I’ve said before, fitness is more than just looking good in a bikini or pair of leggings, or looking masculine in a muscle shirt. You want to have some go with all that show. Try some of these and let me know what you did in the comments.
