Aqiyl Aniys, is a health activist and author of The God Awakening Diet, which promotes a plant-based diet. Something myself I have been flirting with but not quite there yet. In his book, he has some tea recipes which I decided to try since I had some of the herbs already in my cupboard. And of course, my favorite one is the Me Man Tea.
His Me Man Tea just has three ingredients. Yohimbe, Sarsaparilla, and water. I get all my herbs in bulk from Mountain Rose Herbs and Amazon. (You might have to get Yohimbe through Starwest Botanicals. As of this writing, Mountain Rose Herbs appears to not sell Yohimbe anymore.) But what does Yohimbe and Sarsparilla will do you for? Keep reading.
Yohimbe comes from the bark of the Pausinystalia Yohimbe tree. It is a stimulant known for its natural fat burner abilities and erectile dysfunction by supporting the circulation of the male sexual organ. My personal experience taken Yohimbe in the right dosage, you are fully engorged when it's time it right, wink, wink. If you have never taken Yohimbe, and you are sensitive to stimulants, this is an herb you do not want to overuse. It can cause rapid heartbeat and anxiety attacks. Ask me how I know this!
Also, per Starwest Botanicals, Yohimbe Bark should not be used if you have liver and/or kidney diseases, nor if the prostate gland or sexual organs are chronically inflamed. It is not recommended that this dried herb be taken long term. It can also accelerate the action of pharmaceutical MAO-inhibitors.
Sarsaparilla binds with toxins and detoxifies the blood. Sarsaparilla contains saponin compounds, that are not easily digested, that bind with endotoxin bacteria byproducts and removes them from the body via urine or stool. Sarsaparilla is also a diaphoretic and promotes the excretion of toxins through sweating.[1]
I have a number of books on herbs, and I could not find any references on how Sarsaparilla plays on sexual health. Only on the internet. And we know how reliable the internet is when it comes to "facts". But it appears that Sarsaparilla is known to:
Increase sex drive
Regulates hormone levels
Lower blood pressure
Now if you have qualms about taking these herbs, I recommend talking to a naturopathic physician if you decide to go the herbal route for sexual health. In my opinion, no general health practitioner that prescribes medication is going to have a conversation with you taking these herbs for sexual health and function.
Me Man Tea
1/4 of a teaspoon of Yohimbe
1/4 of a teaspoon of Sarsaparilla
16 oz of water
Makes 2 cups.
Put the herbs and water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then reduce heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes, remove from heat, strain into a mug. Not the best tasting, but remember, the purpose is not to titillate the taste buds, but for function.
I drink this from time to time. If you decide to try it, let me know in the comments.
Clarence
